Power up your fleet with the UK’s largest Truck-Ready charging network

From high powered hubs to shared-depot charging; find, charge, and pay on the UK’s largest aggregated network of truck-compatible chargers. One card, one app, and smart filters designed for commercial vehicles, all in one place.

The challenges with
Truck charging

Bays are too small

Most charging sites were designed for cars, with tight bays, limited turning space, and even height restrictions — making them unusable for HGVs.

Chargers are too slow

Truck batteries need far more power than most chargers can deliver. Without high-power options, vehicles sit idle for hours instead of earning.

Sites are in the wrong places

Too many chargers are built for shoppers and commuters, not along the freight corridors where trucks really need them.

There aren't enough of them

Truck-ready chargers are few and far between, and when you find one it may already be taken. That makes depot charging essential.

Access is fragmented

Every network has its own app or card, forcing drivers and fleets to juggle multiple systems, logins and invoices.

Why Trucks are different

Bigger vehicles

Trucks need longer bays, wider turning circles and no height restrictions

Bigger batteries

Higher capacity means higher-power chargers are needed to minimise downtime

Different routes

Trucks follow freight corridors, not commuter car patterns

Operational impact

Every minute charging is a minute off the road earning revenue

Find the right charger for your vehicle

Not every charger works for every vehicle. Paua’s Vehicle Size Filters cut through the guesswork so you only see locations you can actually use. One tap in the Paua app filters the map to match your fleet’s exact needs, no more wasted stops or awkward manoeuvres.

Small

Fits into a standard parking bay, ideal for cars and small vans. Most public charging sites have these bays.

Medium

Larger than a standard bay but smaller than a full articulated truck. Suited to long-wheelbase vans, towing vehicles, solo tractor units and rigid trucks.

Large

Designed for articulated HGVs up to 40-44 tonnes, with extra-long bays and turning space for trucks towing full-size trailers.

Need more options? Enable “Include unverified locations” to see sites reported by our team or trusted customers for your vehicle size. We can’t guarantee them, but they’ve worked before.

Public, Truck-Only & Shared-Depot Charging

Only Paua delivers this mix of public, truck-only, and shared-depot charging in a single, integrated network.

Public

Open to all EVs, including cars and vans. Certain locations can accommodate electric trucks, although availability may be reduced if smaller vehicles occupy bays.

Truck-Only

eHGV charging sites, such as those operated by Milence, are designed exclusively for trucks. Access is restricted to ensure availability for heavy vehicles.

Shared-Depots

Private commercial sites (e.g. bus garages) are made accessible through Paua Share. Entry requires prior authorisation and a dedicated sharing agreement.

Built for size

Wide bays, generous turning circles and no height limits.

Built for power

150–350+ kW chargers made for heavy-duty batteries.

Built for uptime

Reserved access, predictable availability and faster turnarounds.

Built for fleets

Public and shared depots managed seamlessly in one Paua account.
