TL;DR

Paua and Easee have partnered to automate fair home EV charging reimbursement, using actual charger data and electricity tariffs while separating business and private mileage.

Paua and Easee partner to unlock fair, automated home EV charging reimbursement for fleets

London,UK – Paua, the UK's leading EV charging payment platform for fleets, has announced a new partnership with smart EV charging innovator Easee to simplify and improve how businesses reimburse drivers for home charging.

The partnership brings together Easee’s connected home chargers and Paua Reimburse, enabling fleets to accurately compensate drivers for both business-only mileage and mixed private and business use.

For fleet managers navigating the transition to electric, home charging reimbursement remains one of the most complex and poorly solved challenges. Many organisations rely on HMRC’s Advisory Electric Rate (AER), which often fails to reflect the true cost of charging at home.

Analysis from Paua’s reimbursement calculator, based on thousands of real-world scenarios, shows that:

·       The average EV driver is £436 per year out of pocket when relying on AER

·       Among drivers who are under-reimbursed, this rises to £735 per year

This partnership aims to address that gap.

A better model for home charging reimbursement

By combining Easee’s charger data with Paua’s reimbursement platform, fleets can move away from manual expense claims and estimated rates.

Instead, reimbursement is based on:

·       Actual energy usage from the home charger

·       The driver’s real electricity tariff

·       Clear separation of business and private mileage

·       Line manager approval workflows for governance and control

This creates a system that is accurate, auditable, and scalable.

Built for fleet adoption

Easee’s connected chargers provide the data foundation, while Paua Reimburse acts as a purpose-built reimbursement and approval layer designed specifically for EV charging payment.

Importantly, Paua’s integration with Easee allows access to charger data without disrupting existing charger setups or requiring control of the device, enabling a low-friction rollout across fleets.

This approach allows businesses to:

·       Support drivers with fair reimbursement

·       Reduce administrative burden

·       Increase confidence in EV adoption across their fleet

Long-standing Paua customer Airedale, which operates agrowing fleet of electric vans servicing its own customers, is one of the earlybeneficiaries of the new integration between Paua and Easee. With around 80 EVsin its fleet and around 70 currently active, Airedale is using Paua for publiccharging and home reimbursement, deploying Easee chargers at home, as it looksto reduce manual administration and simplify fleet operations.

LeeMcGrath, Fleet Manager at Airedale, said:

"Cost is always a consideration, and Paua offersexcellent value. But what really sets them apart is the service and support. They're easy to work with, respond quickly whenever we need them, and alwaysfind a solution. The data and reporting are excellent, everything is simple touse, and we've never been told, 'we can't do that.'"

McGrath continued; “The biggest sign that Paua isworking is that I don't hear from our drivers anymore.

Supporting the shift to electric

For Easee, the partnership strengthens its position in UK fleet deployments - where accurate data, seamless integrations, and driver confidence are increasingly decisive in purchasing decisions. For Paua, it strengthens its mission to remove friction from fleet electrification by solving one of the most persistent operational challenges.

Steve Frost, Head of Automotive,Easee:

"For fleet drivers, home is where most EV charging happens; and until now, getting reimbursed fairly for it has been anything but straight forward. By combining Easee's connected charger data with Paua's reimbursement platform, we're removing that friction entirely. Accurate, automatic, and fair; this is what effortless electrification looks like in practice. "

Niall Riddell, CEO and Co-founder of Paua, said:
Home charging is where most EV miles happen, but it’s also where reimbursement breaks down. Drivers are left out of pocket, and fleet teams are left managing spreadsheets and guess work.

This partnership with Easee changes that. Together, we’re enabling a model where reimbursement is automatic, accurate, and fair. That’s a critical step in making EV adoption work at scale.

We have been working in this space for 4 years and today’s announcement furthers our ambition to deliver results across the four key charging locations home, work, shared-depot and on-the-road charging
