TL;DR
Paua has partnered with Motus and Ford & Slater to add 16 new shared depot charging locations for electric trucks across the UK.The sites support rigid and articulated trucks from any manufacturer, expanding the practical charging network for fleets.Together the two DAF dealers also supplied 20% of the electric trucks in the UK’s ZEHID programme.
Paua, the UK’s largest aggregated EV charging network forcommercial vehicles, has announced new partnerships with Motus and Ford &Slater, two of the UK’s leading DAF Trucks dealers, to enable shared electrictruck charging at depot sites across the UK.
Through the partnerships, depot sites operated by Motus andFord & Slater will be made accessible to commercial fleets via Paua Share, helping expand the available charging network for electric rigid andarticulated trucks across the UK. Together, these two new partners add 16 newtruck charging locations into the Paua truck and shared depot ecosystem.
The two dealer groups have also played an important role inthe UK’s wider transition to electric freight. Motus and Ford & Slatertogether supplied 20% of the electric trucks in the UK’s ZEHID programme as DAFelectric trucks.
Importantly, the depots will welcome electric trucks fromany manufacturer, not just DAF vehicles, supporting the wider transition tozero-emission freight. This reflects the growing importance of shared depotcharging as fleets seek practical, reliable charging options beyond their owninfrastructure. Shared depots help extend network coverage, improve chargerutilisation and support more efficient route planning for commercial vehicles.
The integrations have been delivered through closecollaboration across multiple partners. Motus has worked with Envevo to installthe chargers, while Ford & Slater has worked with EO to install thechargers. Paua has then integrated both partners into its platform, enablingfleets to access depot infrastructure using Paua’s EV charging payment anddepot sharing capability.
Expanding the charging network for electric trucks
Charging access remains one of the key challenges for fleetselectrifying heavy vehicles. While public charging for cars and vans has grownrapidly, infrastructure specifically designed for large commercial vehicles isstill emerging. Truck charging requires more power, more space and differentsite layouts than passenger EV charging, making depot-based infrastructureespecially important.
Shared depot charging provides a practical solution byopening existing private infrastructure to trusted fleet partners. Thisapproach increases utilisation of installed chargers while helping fleetsaccess more locations to charge. Paua’s broader truck and depot sharingstrategy is built around exactly this model, extending access to commercialvehicle charging through both public and shared-private infrastructure.
John Jesson EV and Connected Services Manager, “We aredelighted to partner with Paua to make our charging infrastructure accessibleto a wider group of fleet operators. As more businesses transition to electrictrucks, enabling shared access to depot charging will help fleets operate withgreater confidence and flexibility.”
Josh Spencer, EV Sales Manager “We are pleased to be workingwith Paua to open up depot charging access for fleets. As a leading DAF Trucksdealer, we are proud to be supporting the growth of electric truck adoption inthe UK, including through our contribution to the ZEHID programme.”
Niall Riddell, CEO and Co-Founder of Paua
“Motus and Ford & Slaterjoining Paua Share is a strong example of the industry working together toaccelerate electric truck adoption. Depot charging is a critical part of theecosystem. By opening trusted depot infrastructure to other fleets, we canrapidly extend the usable charging network for electric trucks across the UK.”
