Motus and Ford & Slater open depot charging to fleets through Paua Share

Paua, the UK’s largest aggregated EV charging network fo  rcommercial vehicles, has announced new partnerships with Motus and Ford &Slater, two of the UK’s leading DAF Trucks dealers, to enable shared electric truck charging at depot sites across the UK.

Through the partnerships, depot sites operated by Motus and Ford & Slater will be made accessible to commercial fleets via Paua Share, helping expand the available charging network for electric rigid and articulated trucks across the UK. Together, these two new partners add 16 new truck charging locations into the Paua truck and shared depot ecosystem.

The two dealer groups have also played an important role in the UK’s wider transition to electric freight. Motus and Ford & Slater together supplied 20% of the electric trucks in the UK’s ZEHID programme as DAF electric trucks.

Importantly, the depots will welcome electric trucks from any manufacturer, not just DAF vehicles, supporting the wider transition to zero-emission freight. This reflects the growing importance of shared depot charging as fleets seek practical, reliable charging options beyond their own infrastructure. Shared depots help extend network coverage, improve charger utilisation and support more efficient route planning for commercial vehicles.

The integrations have been delivered through close collaboration across multiple partners. Motus has worked with Envevo to install the chargers, while Ford & Slater has worked with EO to install the chargers. Paua has then integrated both partners into its platform, enabling fleets to access depot infrastructure using Paua’s EV charging payment and depot sharing capability.

Expanding the charging network for electric trucks

Charging access remains one of the key challenges for fleets electrifying heavy vehicles. While public charging for cars and vans has grown rapidly, infrastructure specifically designed for large commercial vehicles is still emerging. Truck charging requires more power, more space and different site layouts than passenger EV charging, making depot-based infrastructure especially important.

Shared depot charging provides a practical solution by opening existing private infrastructure to trusted fleet partners. This approach increases utilisation of installed chargers while helping fleets access more locations to charge. Paua’s broader truck and depot sharing strategy is built around exactly this model, extending access to commercial vehicle charging through both public and shared-private infrastructure.
